Mr Shuo Cong

Cong Shuo, a PhD candidate at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Singapore, since 2021. Prior to join Prof. Derek J. Hausenloy’s lab, Mr. Cong achieved his MD degree with the title of Outstanding Graduates in 2017 at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He then underwent the training programme specialized for cardiac surgeon at Fudan University affiliated Zhongshan Hospital, Shanghai, China, where he not only obtained his master’s degree but also started his scientific research journey on tissue engineering and cardiovascular diseases. Since 2020, he has been working on establishing the iPSC based in-vitro platform for various cardiomyopathies and metabolic heart diseases, to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and find novel targets. Furthermore he is also interested in tissue engineering and drug discovery. He speaks Mandarin, English and a little bit French.
