Doctor Christophe Chautems

Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Zurich (Switzerland)

Dr. Christophe Chautems is a medical robotics researcher at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland and the CTO and cofounder of Nanoflex Robotics. He is specialized in the magnetic control of catheters and microrobots for navigation in the cardiovascular system or neurovascular system. Between September 2009 and June 2011, he was involved in research project at Nasa Ames and at ESA where he deepened his knowledge in autonomous planetary rover navigation. He then spends 15 months working for the automotive industry before joining Aeon Scientific to develop an electro-magnetic navigation system to steer catheter for cardiac arrhythmia ablations. In June 2016, he joined MSRL as a PhD candidate with the purpose to shape the future of the magnetic navigation technology for application in the medical field, and support the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab with his experience in designing medical device.
