Biography
Alberto Guarnaccia, MD, is a cardiologist and translational physician-scientist focused on Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathies and Cardio-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Medicine. Summa cum laude MD graduate of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, he completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Trieste, gaining expertise in HF care, phenotyping and metabolic assessment. His research bridges heart failure and cardiac metabolism with mitochondrial physiology, obesity and kidney disease. Author of peer-reviewed publications and reviewer for major cardiovascular journals. Active within ESC, HFA, EACVI, ACC, AHA, SIC and ECAS, he chairs the ECAS Fellowship and Mentorship Programme and received the ECAS EP Fellow Award 2025. His CKM profile is strengthened by engagement in the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) and European Renal Association (ERA), as ERA YNP mentee under Prof. Marc Vervloet. Committed to care, translational research, mentorship and scientific society work.
