Biography
Vincenzo Lionetti was graduated in Medicine at the University of Bari School of Medicine (Italy) in 1999. He received the Specialization in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Turin School of Medicine (Italy) in 2003 and the Ph.D. in Innovative Strategies in Biomedical Research at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSUP) of Pisa in 2007. Since 2009, he is an anesthesiologist at Fondazione Toscana “G. Monasterio”, Pisa, Italy. In 2011, he founded the Unit of Translational Critical Care Medicine at SSSUP. Since 2014 he is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the Institute of Life Sciences, SSSUP. His main interests are the pathophysiology of myocardial intercellular cross-talk and epigenetic of cardioprotection. From 2001 to 2002 he was Research Fellow at the Dpt of Physiology, New York Medical College, USA. In 2011 he was Visiting Scholar at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA. He is an expert evaluator of the European Research Executive Agency.
