Doctor Sofia Chatzikyriakou

Chatzikyriakou Sofia is a cardiologist- electrophysiologist certified by EHRA . She is currently working at the Metropolitan General Hospital in Athens, and she has been working at the Erasme University hospital in Brussels ( 2017-2019) and at the Clinic Saint Jean in Brussels (2019-2022) . She studied medicine at the Democritus University of Thrace, in Alexandroupoli, in Greece from where she graduated in excellence in 2004. Afterwards, she worked as a researcher at the cardiology department of Democritus University of Thrace and she obtained her doctorate in 2009. She was trained in internal medicine at the Asklipieion Hospital in Athens, Greece ( 2009-2011) and in cardiology at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Athens, Greece ( 2011-2015). She became certified cardiologist in 2015 ( passed national board exams and the ESC cardiology exams). Afterwards, she was a fellow in clinical electrophysiology in OLV Hospital in Aalst, Belgium and she participated in research projects.
