Dr. Peyman Sardari Nia, MD, PhD, is a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Maastricht University Medical Center and associate professor at Maastricht University, specializing in minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery and heading the mitral valve program. His innovative work in surgical simulation, 3D printing, digital health and valvular heart disease surgery has garnered him global recognition. Committed to medical education, he has founded and directed over 100 courses in minimally invasive techniques for adult cardiac surgery, training over 1000 surgeons worldwide. Dr. Sardari Nia serves as Editor-in-Chief of ICVTS, one of EACTS's flagship journals. Recently, driven by his passion for advancing cardiovascular care globally, he helped establish the global Heart Team Academy, promoting multi- and interdisciplinary collaboration to address cardiovascular diseases as its chairman.
