Thomas Suter is board-certified in cardiology and internal medicine and the head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Lindenhofgruppe in Bern, Switzerland. In addition, he leads the Cardio-Oncology Service and is a member of the section for heart failure and cardiac transplantation at the University Hospital Bern. He received his medical degree from the University of Zurich and took residency training in internal medicine and cardiology at University Hospital Zürich, Boston University Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston MA. During his cardiology training, he specialized on heart failure and cardiac transplantation. His clinical research during the past 20 years focused on the investigation of cardiovascular side effects of cancer therapeutics. He currently serves as the chair of the Council on Cardio-Oncology of the European Society of Cardiology and on several steering committees of multinational cancer trials.
