Dr. Tuomas Rissanen, MD, PhD and interventional cardiologist. He received his MD and PhD (Gene Therapy for Blood Vessel Growth) degrees in 2006 in Kuopio University, Finland. He is a docent in Molecular Medicine in A. I. Virtanen Institute, Eastern Finland (2007). He was graduated as cardiologist in 2012. He is now working as the Head of Heart Center in North Karelia Central Hospital, Joensuu, Finland. He's clinical skills include compex PCI and CTO, TAVI and CRT implantations. He has over 60 peer-reviewed publications (3295 citations, h-index 29 and RG-score 38.7). He’s current research interest interventional cardiology as well as arrhythmia detection using novel technologies. He has conducted a multicenter DEBUT trial which was published in the Lancet, 2019. He is also the Head of Science in Heart2Save LtD, a start-up company developing a mobile phone application for automated arrhythmia detection (CE mark approved).
