Biography
Professor Tuomas Rissanen is Head of the Heart Center at North Karelia Central Hospital in Joensuu, Finland, and Professor of Cardiology at the University of Eastern Finland. He has authored approximately 100 original articles, with an H-index of 42, >6200 citations and cumulative impact factor of 850. He has supervised 7 PhD theses. He is an experienced interventional cardiologist with extensive expertise in PCI (n=4500, 2500 with DCB) and complex and LM PCI, CTO interventions (n=500), and structural interventions (TAVI n=200). He is one of the opinion leaders on drug-coated balloon PCI. He is a member of the Academic Research Consortium (ARC) for drug-coated balloons and a founding member of the Drug-Coated Balloon Club.
