Biography
Dr Jonathan Ciofani is a physician researcher at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) in Sydney, Australia. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Imperial College London (2020-2022) and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from The University of Sydney (2016-2019), where he also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSc) with double majors in Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Immunobiology (2013-2015). He serves as Clinical Lecturer at the Sydney Medical School at The University of Sydney, Section Editor for Genomics and Precision Medicine at Heart, Lung and Circulation, Chair of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) Fellows in Training Committee, and member of the CSANZ Education Committee.
His research focuses on leveraging population genetics to better understand cardiovascular diseases, particularly valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, and inherited cardiovascular conditions. He has particular methodological expertise in Mendelian randomisation.
