Jarkko Karvonen is an electrophysiologist with a passion for cardiac pacing and innovative technologies. Currently serving as the Associate Chief Physician at the Helsinki University Hospital Heart and Lung Center in Finland, he oversees the cardiac pacing program. Jarkko successfully initiated the conduction system pacing program in Helsinki in 2019 and has since educated doctors across the Nordic countries in CSP. His commitment to education is evident, exemplified by his key role in organizing the 1st Nordic CSP Summit in June 2024 in Helsinki. In recent years, Jarkko has published on topics such as CSP, CIED remote monitoring, MRI safety in CIED, ICD therapy, and CRT optimization. Starting 2025, Jarkko serves as the Chairman for the Finnish Cardiac Society's Working Group of Cardiac Arrhythmias and Pacing and as a member in EHRA Scientific Initiatives Committee. Outside of work, Jarkko enjoys running and opera music – often in combination.
