Christina Christersson MD, PhD, FESC works as a senior consultant at the Department of Cardiology Uppsala University Hospital and as a senior lecturer at the Department of Medical Sciences at Uppsala University. She focus her clinical research on biomarkers reflecting coagulation activity and heart function in patients with atherosclerotic diseases, atrial fibrillation and valvular diseases. In addition she devotes her time on translational studies focusing on biological functions of extracellular vesicles and the interplay of coagulation and inflammation. She has authored/ co-authored > 70 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
