Ms Pooja Jha

Pooja Jha, PhD Editor-in-Chief, The Lancet Regional Health – Europe, Co-Chair, The Lancet Group for Racial Equity (GRacE) Pooja Jha is the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Regional Health – Europe, launched in October 2020, and is based in Munich, Germany. She joined The Lancet from Nature Research, where she was part of the launch team at Nature Metabolism in Berlin starting in 2018. Pooja holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the Medical University of Graz, Austria. Her doctoral research focused on adipose tissue–liver cross-talk in the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), followed by postdoctoral work in computational genetics and mitochondrial biology at EPFL, Switzerland. Pooja has commissioned and led several cardiovascular Series and Commissions for the journal, including work on atrial fibrillation, variations in cardiovascular disease outcomes across Europe, and inequalities and disparities in cardiovascular health.
