Dr. Theresa Beckie is Professor and Director of the PhD Program in Nursing Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is also professor in the College of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Sciences. Dr. Beckie's program of research has substantially contributed to the breadth and depth of the science for improving health behavior outcomes of women with cardiovascular disease. She was the first to develop a motivationally-tailored cardiac rehabilitation program specifically for women. Her current research seeks to improve access to cardiac rehabilitation by translating her face-to-face cardiac rehabilitation program for women to a mobile platform using smartphones, wearable sensors, and a web-based dashboard.
