Peri-coronary inflammation in SCAD is distinct from vasculitides and likely a reaction to, rather than a cause for SCAD. Coronary fibromuscular dysplasia or increased VV density does not appear pathophysiologically important. Dermal connective tissue changes are not common in SCAD survivors.
