To help radiotherapy oncologists and cardiologists minimize the negative impact of radiation therapy, which is an essential part of the therapeutic regimen for many cancer patients When the heart or other cardiovascular structures are included in the radiation field, patients may develop a variety of cardiovascular complications involving the pericardium, myocardium, valves, coronary arteries, and conduction system.
To make webinar participants aware of cardiovascular complications related to the total dose of radiation, the fractionation of the dose, the mean heart dose received, pre-existing CV risk factors, and concomitant cancer treatments.
