This EACVI HIT Course is organised in collaboration with the Working group on Echocardiography and Imaging Modalities in Cardiology of the Croatian Cardiac Society and will be held during the Croatian Echocardiography Congress (CroEcho 2025) on 8-10 May in Porec, Croatia.

It will be focusing on "Back to pathophysiology – Deep clinical understanding of hemodynamic fundamentals in echocardiography".

AUDIENCE

The course is designed for cardiology imaging specialists, cardiology specialty trainees, cardiac sonographers, radiology technologists, and other doctors with special interest in cardiovascular imaging.

PROGRAMME

Access the programme

Upon completion of this course, participants will gain more knowledge and be able to:

  • Get to know estimate pressures in the heart chambers during cardiac cycle in normal and pathological settings.
  • Understand and interpret Doppler echo measurements of diastolic function in normal and pathological settings.
  • Learn tips & tricks for echocardiographic assessment of diastolic function.
  • Interpret the measurements in real-life cases and incorporate them into clinical puzzle.
  • Understand limitations and possible pitfalls in noninvasive estimation of heart chamber pressures and echocardiographic assessment of diastolic function.
  • Understand and recognize pathophysiology of diastolic dysfunction in exercise.
