On behalf of the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases, it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend “M&PD: perspective views - the annual scientific meeting of the Working Group”.
The conference will take place in Trieste, one of the capitals of the Mittel-Europa, hosting a mixture of cultures and populations, on 28-29 November 2025.
The venue of the meeting is Savoia Excelsior Palace Hotel in the centre of Trieste.
In the last years, several advances have been achieved in the field of myocardial and pericardial diseases. The introduction of genetics and the implementation of multimodality imaging in clinical practice represented the main pillars of this progression of knowledge and important features of the “cardiomyopathy mindset” method, that is crucial in the clinical management of these patients, as highlighted in the 2023 ESC Guidelines on cardiomyopathies. However, several challenges remain: the clinical use of endomyocardial biopsy, the precise definition of some diseases such as “hot phases cardiomyopathy”, the management of gene elusive patients, the candidates selection to precise therapies are only some examples of open issues, towards the application of precision medicine. In this perspective, in 2025 the European Society of Cardiology will publish the first guidelines on Myocarditis and Pericarditis.
During the meeting, all the above-mentioned issues will be discussed in highly interactive sessions, through the use of videos and during “controversia symposia”. Outstanding faculty will be present, covering all cardiomyopathies, always highlighting the cutting-edge and perspective views towards the next future clinical management. You will have the opportunity of presenting your research work at the poster sessions and enjoy a meeting that offers a vibrant scientific program with outstanding experts. This would be a great opportunity to showcase your research work, build networks, and get involved in the management of clinical cases and scientific discussions. The implementation of collaborations and international research projects will be an important aim of the meeting, as this represents a mission of ESC and the best way to further improve the knowledge on these challenging diseases.
We hope to see you in Trieste for “M&PD: perspective views - the annual scientific meeting of the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases” in November 2025, sharing your knowledge and expertise with us all.
Trieste will offer an inspiring cultural environment, and we truly look forward to welcoming you!
