The EHRA Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) summit will take place at the CityCube of Berlin (Germany) in a half-day programme format, a day before EHRA 2024.
What is the Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) Summit
Catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation has been established in the ESC guidelines. In particular PFA, as a non-thermal ablation energy source has been attracting mainstream clinical interest due to its specific safety and efficacy profile.
This re-discovered energy source has the potential to change current practice in the field of catheter ablation. However, a prerequisite that our patients may benefit from this therapy is that it is delivered in a proper manner and the electrophysiology (EP) staff including physicians, nurses and allied professionals are fully trained regarding merits and demerits of this ablation modality.
This PFA summit provides practical information and aims to deliver a comprehensive overview of the basics of PFA energy, contemporary devices clinical data, best clinical practices and future applications.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The summit is primarily targeting EP physicians but also allied professionals (AP) and additional EP staff who are working as a team in the EP lab performing/supporting complex catheter ablation procedures. The summit is also targeting EP team members who aim to launch a novel PFA programme in their institution or wish to refine their ablation approaches and workflows to increase standardisation and improve patient care.
