FABIEN HYAFIL, MD, PhD, FESC, is Director of Nuclear Cardiology, Head of the department of Nuclear Medicine of Georges-Pompidou Hospital in Paris and Professor in Medicine of the University of Paris. He earned a Medical Degree in the School of Medicine of Paris Descartes and is board certified in Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine. Dr Hyafil completed a residency at Assistance-Publique Hôpitaux de Paris followed by Fellowships in Cardiology and in Nuclear Medicine at Bichat Hospital in Paris. He has worked for two years as Research Fellow in the Imaging Science Laboratories of Prof. Fayad at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York at developing new imaging approaches for atherosclerosis imaging, and for two years in the department of Nuclear Medicine of Prof. Schwaiger in Munich at developing new cardiovascular applications for PET-MRI. His main fields of interest are multi-modality imaging of endocarditis, atherosclerosis and cardiac diseases, myocardial perfusion imaging with SPECT and PET.
