Christian Funck-Brentano is Professor of Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology at Sorbonne Université and Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital in Paris. He is Head of the Department of Pharmacology and of the APHP/INSERM Clinical Investigation Center at Pitié-Salpêtrière. After completing his training in Cardiology in Paris he was a Merck International Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. under the mentorship of Raymond L. Woosley and Dan M. Roden. He then returned to Paris and has been working in Assistance-Publique Hôpitaux de Paris since then. Dr Funck-Brentano's researches are in the field of cardiotoxicity of cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular drugs, notably drug-induced proarrhythmia, polymorphisms of drug metabolism and drug-drug interactions. He has been involved in phase I, II and III clinical trials (adjudication and safety committees) and in ESC Guidelines activities. Dr Funck-Brentano has published >250 publications.
