Biography
Medical studies at the universities of Vienna and Würzburg. Post-doc with Prof. Ketty Schwartz at INSERM U127, Hôpital Lariboisière, Paris. Clinical education at University Hospital Marburg and Regensburg. Professorship for „Clinical and Molecular Cardiology“ at the Medical Faculty of the University Regensburg, Germany. 2012-2017 senior cardiologist and deputy director of the German Heart Center Munich, Germany.
Since 10/2017, Chair of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Medical University Vienna, Austria.
Clinical focus is interventional cardiology, TAVI, primary and secondary prevention, heart failure. Scientific focus in TAVI and genetics of heart diseases, especially coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathies. Over 300 in PubMed listed publications. Regular reviewer for international jour-nals.
FESC and member of the Working Groups for Cardiovascular Genomics, Valvular Heart Disease, EAPCI, Myocardial & Pericardial Diseases, HFA.
