Moritz Blum, MD is a clinical research scholar at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. After completing his medical studies at Charité Berlin his doctoral research in cardiac imaging at the German Heart Center Berlin, he worked with Roxana Mehran, MD at the Center for Interventional Cardiovascular Research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York from 2018 through 2019 as a visiting research scholar. Driven by his passion for communication, human interaction and decision making, he was drawn towards the intersection of cardiology and palliative care. Thus, he joined the team around Laura Gelfman, MD, MPH and Nathan Goldstein, MD at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at Mount Sinai, New York. Their current research endeavors focus on improving the delivery of palliative care for patients with advanced heart failure.
