Mr Moritz Blum

Moritz Blum is an early-career clinical researcher in the final stage of his MD training at Charité Medical University, Berlin. After completing his doctoral research in cardiac imaging at the German Heart Center with Prof. Sebastian Kelle, MD, PhD, he worked with Roxana Mehran, MD at the Center for Interventional Cardiovascular Research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York from 2018 through 2019 as a visiting research scholar in order to further develop his clinical research skills, . Driven by his passion for existential questions and the need for dedicated research on this topic, he was drawn towards end-of-life aspects in cardiology. Thus, he joined the team around Laura Gelfman, MD, MPH and Nathan Goldstein, MD at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at Mount Sinai, New York. Their current research endeavors focus on improving the delivery of palliative care for patients with advanced heart failure.
