Bonnie Beasant is a PhD student, studying with the Epidemiology-Centre for Healthy Ageing, School of Medicine, Deakin University (March 2020 - Present). Bonnie’s innovative PhD research project focuses on the role of health literacy in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and has resulted in several publications and conference presentations.
Bonnie is passionate about collaborative efforts in raising the importance of health literacy in public health and clinical settings. She is currently the student liaison of the Geelong-based Community and Research Network (CARN) and a member of the Australasian Society of Behavioural Health and Medicine. Bonnie has also mentored two honours students and facilitates a weekly writing group for research students as well as peer support network for postdoctoral researchers within School of Medicine, Deakin University.
