Valérie Dionne is a nurse practitioner specialized in cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) since 2011. She has practiced particularly in post-operative cardiac surgery and heart failure clinics, but also in emergency care, general cardiology and palliative care. She was an ECG reading trainer for several years.
Since 2020, she has been developing clinical/research expertise in cardiometabolic health at the Centre EPIC (the MHI's physical activity and preventive medicine center).
As part of her master's degree in biomedical sciences, she conducted the DIABEPIC 2 pilot project on the remission of type 2 diabetes through lifestyle behaviors changes in a population with risk factors and/or cardiovascular disease.
