Stéphane Carlier, MD, PhD is a practicing medical doctor and bioengineer. He is currently interventional cardiologist and director of the Department of Cardiology at CHU Helora site Kennedy in Mons (Belgium), and professor of Cardiology and director of the Department of Cardiology at University of Mons (UMONS). He was previously Director of the Intravascular Imaging & Physiology Corelab of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York. He is advisor and consultant for different biomedical companies and a member of several reviewing boards of medical and bioengineering journals. His research interests include new intravascular and X-ray imaging, cardiac and vascular dynamics, physiology and signal processing with a high-volume scientific output of more than 200 publications. He is leading new Interventional cardiology trials based on intravascular imaging (IVUS) and quantitative angiography in the CoeurLab of UMONS, a multimodality imaging corelab.
