Christodoulos Papadopoulos is Associate Professor of Cardiology in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He was involved in Basic Science Cardiology Research in Rayne’s Institute London in the late nineties. He completed his residency in Cardiology in AHEPA General Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece in 2003. He presented his PhD thesis on Postinfarction Left Ventricular Remodeling in 2008. He worked as an Interventional Cardiology Fellow in Northern General Hospital, University of Sheffield (2010). Since 2014 he joined Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Faculty of Medicine – and works in the 3rd Cardiology Department, Hippokrateio University Hospital. His main interests include Interventional Cardiology, Heart Failure, Thrombosis and Digital Health. He has published more than 185 scientific papers indexed in Pubmed and Scopus (Hi 18). He is the President of Atherosclerosis Society of Northern Greece.
Klotho deficiency and high FGF23 plasma levels are associated with left atrial mechanical dysfunction in patients with chronic renal failure and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation history.
