Dr Kshama Wechalekar MBBS, DRM, DNB (Nuclear Medicine) Dr Kshama Wechalekar leads the department of Nuclear Medicine department at Royal Brompton Hospital since 2011 and PET service at Specialist Care at RBH&HH at Wimpole street diagnostic centre from June 2016. She is an honorary Senior Lecturer at NHLI, Imperial College. She is current President of British Nuclear Cardiology Society and is a committee member for British nuclear medicine society and imaging council of British cardiac society. Kshama has led the change for advancing the myocardial perfusion imaging from SPECT to Rubidium PET with advantage of quantitative blood flow and measuring myocardial perfusion reserve and low radiation dose to patients. This has led to more precise ischaemia assessment for patients. She has special interest in cardiac sarcoidosis and has developed expertise in this field. She has been invited to speak at various international and national meetings and has led research and published.
