Dr Tome is a Consultant Cardiologist and Associate Professor ( Honorary Reader) specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, management and counselling of inherited cardiovascular diseases and prevention of sudden cardiac death. She trained in Spain and gained higher specialisation in London working in clinical research at SGHMS and UCL. She has been working as a consultant since 2005 in the ICC unit at The Heart Hospital, UCLH and Great Ormond street hospital where she led the care of adult and paediatric patients affected with cardiomyopathies. Since 2015 she works at St George's Hospital NHS foundation Trust becoming Associated Professor ( Honorary Reader) at St George's University of London since 2019. She runs specialist ICC clinics with special interest on cardiomyopathies, and Inherited aortopathy, cardio-obstetrics and the management of LVOTO . She is passionate on education, best practice delivery and the promotion of equitable access of genomic medicine to the population.
