Jorge Escobedo, FACP, FAHA, obtained his MD degree at the UNAM. He has been certified as specialist in Internal Medicine, and in Infectology. He obtained his MPH degree at the ESPM. He was a postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Internal Medicine (Endocrinology), at the Yale University School of Medicine. He is currently Head of the Clinical Research Center at the Regional Hospital No. 1 in Mexico City,IMSS, and professorat the UNAM. He is Academic (fellow) of the Mexico National Academy of Medicine and the Mexican Academy of Surgery. He has worked on research projects with Mayo Clinic, the Canadian VIGOUR Centre, the University of Louisville, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the University of Toronto. He has been the PI investigator in Mexico for multicenter clinical trials as BARI 2D, FREEDOM, ISCHEMIA, TAILOR-PCI, SODIUM-HF, VICTORIA, ATTACC, ACTIV-4a. He is a baseball fan and speaks Spanish and English and has a fairly good command of French and German.
