I am Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Head of the Interdisciplinary Medicine in Cardiology Unit at the Heart Institute of the University of Sao Paulo. The Unit is involved in the medical care, teaching and research related to perioperative cardiology and cardiac involvement in non-cardiac diseases, mainly atherosclerosis in special situations. I have published 246 articles in National and International peer reviewed journals. I was Editor in Chief of the Journal of Brazilian Medical Associaton until 2013. I'm the President of The Clinical Cardiology Department of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology, Chairman of the Ph.D. Program for Medical Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo, Brasil. I have double citizenship, Brazilian and Italian and I'm fluent in Portuguese, Italian and English Languages.
