Professor Gerald Greil

Dr. Greil studied medicine in Germany (Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric ICU and Neonatology), the United Kingdom, the US (Pediatric Cardiac MRI at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School), and Sweden. After working in Pediatric Cardiology/Cardiac MRI in Tuebingen/Germany (2001-2006) he joined King’s College London/Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation (2006 to 2015) as a Consultant (Lead of the Congenital Cardiac MRI Imaging Service) and clinical academic. In February 2015 Dr. Greil was appointed as Division Chief of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center of Dallas/Children’s Health, Dallas, TX, USA and Co-Director of the Heart Center. He holds the Pogue Family Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Cardiology. His research interest is in diagnostic and interventional cardiac MRI and CT in patients with acquired and congenital heart disease. He has published >125 original articles, book chapters and clinical guidelines.
