Marco Barbanti is Full Professor at the University of Enna “Kore” and Clinical Director of Division of Cardiology, Umberto I Hospital, Enna. He received his MD from the University of Catania in 2008 and completed his clinical and research fellowship in coronary and structural valve heart disease interventions at the St. Paul’s Hospital, University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Dr Barbanti is the youngest recipient of the prestigious "Thomas J. Linnemeier Spirit of Interventional Cardiology Young Investigator Award" from the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, which has been delivered to him in 2013 for his distinguished clinical and academic achievements. Prof. Barbanti performed >3000 coronary and structural heart procedures and he has authored more than 400 publications in the field of transcatheter aortic and mitral valve interventions in all first tier cardiology journals
