Biography
Dr Sarah Clarke is a Consultant interventional cardiologist and the Clinical Director for Strategic Development at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, UK with a regional, national and international leadership profile. She is the past President of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) London. She is Deputy Chair and a Trustee of the British Heart Foundation. She is Joint National Clinical Lead (Cardiology), for the Getting it Right First Time programme NHSE England reducing variation and improving quality and cost effectiveness in the NHS. She was former Clinical Vice President at the RCP and past President of the British Cardiovascular Society. She was an ESC Board member (2016-2022) and has Chaired the Media and Statues Review Committees. In 2018 she was awarded an ESC grant for the Women Transforming Leadership Programme at the Saïd Business School, Oxford and in recognition of her global leadership and was awarded the 2018 ACC International Service Award by the President.
