Dr. Alexios Antonopoulos is a Cardiologist and a clinical scientist in the University of Athens, Greece. He pursued his PhD studies in Athens Medical School and continued his career as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, University of Oxford. He has been supported by grants from the European Society of Cardiology (HFA/EACVI) and trained in advanced cardiovascular imaging by CT/CMR (OXACT/OCMR, University of Oxford and the CMR Unit Royal Brompton Hospital, London). His research interests include the study of vascular disease mechanisms, medical imaging, machine learning, and the development/validation of imaging biomarkers for cardiovascular risk stratification. He currently also serves as the Executive Editor for the Hellenic Journal of Cardiology.
