Mr Amar Joseph Singh Azad

University of Birmingham, Birmingham (United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland)

I am a PhD student and research associate in Katja Gehmlich’s group since she joined in 2019. I did an integrated Master’s in Biochemistry at Swansea University and did my final year project with Katja at the John Radcliffe Hospital labs in Oxford. My main scientific interests are studying the effect of variants found in patients affected by inherited heart disease and exploring the use of human induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiomyocytes to model cardiovascular disease.
