Dr. Jean-François Tanguay, FRCPC, FCCS, FACC, FAHA, FESC, is an expert in Interventional Cardiology with strong interest for teaching and research in vascular healing.
He is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training and CME education. He is Director of the Interventional Cardiology Division at the MHI and Clinical Cardiologist, combining work in the Coronary Care Unit and the catheterization laboratory (1995-ongoing). He holds the Desgroseillers-Bérard Research Chair in Interventional Cardiology and is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal where he directs the MD-PhD and the Interventional Cardiology Training Programs.
President of the CAIC (2002-05), Co-Chair of the CCS Anti Platelet Guidelines Committee (2011-2019), he performed the first coronary implantation of a drug-eluting bioresorbable scaffold (ABSORB) in North-America.
He is blessed to be father of four sons, and has been happily married for 28 years.
