Doctor Marta Wajda-Pokrontka

Dr Marta Wajda-Pokrontka is a resident in Cardioanesthesiology and Intensive Care at the Medical University of Silesia, working at the Silesian Centre for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, Poland. She graduated in medicine from the same University in 2019 and was awarded a PhD in 2024 for her dissertation “Perioperative Care for Lung Transplant Patients.” She holds the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC). Her interests include cardiothoracic anesthesia, intensive care and transplantation, particularly perioperative cardiovascular management. She has co-authored over twenty peer-reviewed publications, several as first author, and has presented her award-winning research at international meetings including ISICEM, ESC and ISHLT. She is a member of the Polish Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy and the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. She speaks Polish and English and enjoys mountain hiking and running.
