Biography
Dr Michael Gomes is a cardiology registrar from Australia with a strong interest in imaging, ECG interpretation, and sports cardiology.
He completed Basic Physician Training in Perth and commenced an unaccredited advanced training year in cardiology at Royal Darwin Hospital in 2025, where he developed broad experience in inpatient cardiology, cardiac catheterisation and the care of patients from remote and regional Australia.
Michael has presented his work at national and international cardiology meetings, including the European Society of Cardiology Congress and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting. His research interests include multimodality imaging and cardiomyopathies.
Alongside clinical work, Michael is actively involved in teaching junior doctors and medical students, with a focus on ECG interpretation and practical cardiology.
Outside medicine, Michael enjoys sport in all forms and spending time with his family.
