Dr. Esmée Bakker is trained in physical activity epidemiology at Radboud university medical center and Liverpool John Moores University (dual PhD degree, NL and UK). Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Granada, Spain. Her research is focused on aerobic and resistance exercise training, physical activity, sedentary behavior, cardiovascular disease and brain health. Dr Bakker combines the fields of physiology, cardiology and epidemiology and her studies are performed in the general population and in cardiovascular patients. Her goal is to find the ultimate physical activity prescription based on the 24-hour (physical) activity spectrum for cardiovascular health improvement.
