He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines, and Master of Science at the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), Universiteit Antwerpen (Belgium), and Universite Lyon 1 (France). He is currently a doctoral candidate from the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine - University of Bern (Switzerland) and Swiss Paraplegic Research (Switzerland). His research focuses on cardiovascular diseases in high-risk groups, specifically in women, in the elderly, and individuals with spinal cord injury.
