Dr Luke Dawson is a PhD candidate at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University and a part-time interventional cardiology fellow at Alfred Health and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. His research is focussed on improving heath outcomes for patients presenting with acute chest pain by studying large population-based datasets and developing novel risk-stratification strategies that can be used in the pre-hospital setting. His PhD work is supported by National Heart Foundation and National Health and Medical Research Council postgraduate scholarships.
