Paula Susana Lopes holds a PhD In Physiotherapy since 2022, by theFaculty of Sports, University of Porto. Her PhD Project “The role of exercise training in the treatment of Resistant Hypertension” as well as her PhD scholarship was a funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. This project led to 10 published papers, in mostly high impact journals, including Jama Cardiology, several oral presentations and posters in relevant international meetings and 3 awards and honors. She has experience in recruiting, developing and implementing exercise programs in this specific population. She has published 21 articles in specialized journals and 2 book chapters. She is an Invited Adjunct Professor at the School of Health Sciences, University of Aveiro and at the Coimbra Health School, Polytechnic University of Coimbra, mainly teaching cardiac rehabilitation topics. She is also a researcher at the Institute of Biomedicine - University of Aveiro.
