Roxy Senior is Professor of Clinical Cardiology at Imperial College London and Consultant Cardiologist and Director of Echocardiography at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London and Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow. He is a clinician with a major interest in echo -involved for the last 25 years.Published nearly400 original papers. His particular interest is heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and acute coronary syndrome. He pioneered the clinical development of myocardial contrast echo especially in the detection of myocardial viability and led several multicentre studies involving Contrast Stress perfusion Echo in patients with suspected and known CAD.He also pioneered the use of stress echo for early discharge of patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome. He used carotid ultrasound to improve the prognostic value of stress Echo in suspected CAD. He has popularised the use of transvalular flow rate in AS.Awarded Edler Lecture by Lund Univeristy,Sweden.
