Dr. Yuan Lu is Associate Professor of Design for Healthy and Active Ageing at the Department of Industrial Design, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. She is also a Guest Professor at the School of Software Technology at Zhejiang University in China. Lu is interested in exploring the use of design probes to create innovation opportunities and support design decisions with multi-stakeholders. She aims at creating intelligent products, systems, and related services for the increasing aging society. She has a background in mathematics, industrial engineering, and innovation sciences. Lu is interested in developing new research projects and has been leading and participating in a number of national and EU research projects (e.g, Horizon 2020 REACH project, www.reach2020.eu) in the area of designing for promoting physical activities and healthy eating behavior among older adults. She has been a member of the advisory board to the Province Brabant in the area of Healthcare since 2017.
