Michal Stoklosa serves as Principal Scientist, Taxation & Health in the Economic and Health Policy Research Program at American Cancer Society. He is also a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Cape Town’s School of Economics. He conducts research primarily on economic determinants of tobacco smoking and on public policy design to reduce the health and economic impact of tobacco use, including through tobacco taxation and measures to address illicit tobacco trade. Additionally, he is a contributing editor and co-author of the fourth, fifth, and sixth editions of The Tobacco Atlas, American Cancer Society’s service publication providing comprehensive, accessible information on issues and solutions in the tobacco epidemic.
