Biography
Richard Mindham is a patient representative on the ESC’s Patient Forum, representing the Patient Forum to the ESC Board.
Following a diagnosis of Dilated Cardiomyopathy in 2007, Mr Mindham has contributed to a number of efforts which seek to improve the lives of cardiac patients and their families. These include Patient Representation on:
- NICE Guidelines (England & Wales)
- NICE Quality Standards (England & Wales)
- NICOR HF Audit (England & Wales)
- ICHOM Outcome Measurement Set for HF Patients (Worldwide)
- Royal Brompton Hospital (London), Patient Advisory Group on Research
- IRONMAN trial steering committee (effectiveness of IV iron vs standard care; UK - 2016 - 2023)
- ESC Guidelines for diagnosis & treatment of CHF & AHF (2021 & 2023)
- ESC Clinical Consensus Statement – Mental Health & CVD (2025)
- ESC Advocacy Committee (2023 – 2026)
Mr Mindham’s HF interests include Rehabilitation, especially exercise, PROMs/PREMs, Quality Indicators, Research.
