Biography
Laura Fuertes Kenneally is an attending Cardiologist in the University Hospital Dr. Balmis in Alicante, Spain. She has various master's degree in “Advances in Cardiology” from the University of Murcia, "Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging" from the Spanish Society of Cardiac Imaging, as well as in "Diagnostic Imaging in Cardiology". In addition to her clinical duties in the hospitalisation ward, she has a keen interest in clinical research. In 2019 she participated in an internship at the National Centre for Cardiovascular Research Carlos III (CNIC) in Madrid, thanks to the RES@CNIC SEC Programme, where she closely collaborated in the "Functional Genetics of the Oxidative Phosphorylation System" laboratory, led by Dr. José Antonio Enríquez, renowned for his expertise in mitochondrial function. Within the field of cardiology, her primary focus has been in heart failure, cardiac rehabilitation /CPET and imaging.
