John Elrod, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Center for Translational Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. John received his doctorate from Albert Einstein College of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. David Lefer. He then completed postdoctoral training in molecular biology under Howard Hughes Investigator, Jeff Molkentin. His lab has made seminal discoveries regarding mitochondrial calcium signaling in cardiac physiology and disease.
