Biography
Dr. Emer Joyce is a Consultant Cardiologist specializing in Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) and Cardiac Transplant at the Mater University Hospital (MMUH), Dublin, Ireland. She is the National Clinical Lead in Advanced Heart Failure and a Clinical Professor at University College Dublin.
Following cardiology training in Ireland, she successfully defended a PhD in Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging in the Netherlands, supported by scholarships from the European Society of Cardiology and the Irish Cardiac Society.
Dr. Joyce completed clinical and research fellowships in AHF at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. She then joined the cardiology faculty at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio.
In 2018 she returned to Ireland to lead the Advanced Heart Failure Programme. She is Cardiology Chair for the National Amyloidosis Working Group. She is committed to research and education, as Director of the MMUH Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Cardiac Failure.
