Biography
Luca Valerio studied Medicine at the Catholic University of Rome, Italy, pursued a PhD in vascular epidemiology at the Academic Medical Centre of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and is now Virchow Fellow at the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis in Mainz, Germany. His research focuses on the long-term course of pulmonary embolism, mortality for conditions related to thrombosis and hemostasis, and rare thromboinflammatory diseases such as Lemierre syndrome.
